Young man asleep on the ground between two female figures: cartoon for the painting 'An Allegory' or 'Vision of a Knight' in National Gallery, London (NG 213); a landscape beyond Pen and brown ink, pricked for transfer, black chalk residue on verso Turner 1999 The paper is discoloured light brown, from over-exposure to light, and the drawing is damaged in some passages, especially in the head of the right-hand figure. In the middle of the left-hand side of the sheet, near the edge, are a number of pen trials.
