Pikeman’s pot, of iron, made in two pieces joined in a low comb and with the remains of a broad brim. The main edge has a plain inward turn bordered by two rows of round-headed rivets separated by an embossed band. Probably every other one of these was a lining rivet. The sides of the skull are decorated with a recessed chevron, and two rows of round headed rivets separated by an embossed band. The surface is painted black and deeply corroded, and large portions of the brim at the front and rear and part of one side of skull are corroded away. All the turned edge of the comb is missing, and the two halves of the skull are joined by modern riveted repairs at front and rear.
