Broad-rimmed bowl or plate with well with ridge on underside edge. Earthenware covered front and back with presumed tin glaze; painted decoration with red and golden lustre. In the centre a shield of arms for Cardinal Antonio Ciocchi del Monte: blue on a bend between two loops golden-lustre, three mounts golden-lustre. Above it, a cross and a red cardinal's hat. Rim dark blue with incised and painted palmette-scrolling foliage, discs and wings.
