Ivory (hippopotamus incisor) object, possibly handle or vessel; conical, tapering towards lower edge then stepping slightly to narrower cylinder, possibly for the attachement of another component; decorated with carved patterns including a horizontal zig-zag band towards the lower edge, in which every other triangle is filled with dots, framed by sets of three horizontal lines, and a vertical band of alternating single diagonal and triple horizontal lines, framed by sets of three vertical lines; mended from fragments; one chip missing from lower edge; broken at upper edge.
